finding information
Define: information
- Shakespeare dies in *
What does it mean for us when students can have google in their pockets?
- Does it change how we value information?
- Does it change the skills we need to teach?
- Does it change the content we teach?
- What skills do teachers need?
What does it mean for us when students are creating digital footprints now?
- online safety
- online behavior
As a Cluster we have identified the need to explore our understandings of
21st Century Citizenship and the "Development and implementation of Digital
Citizenship Programmes" as major goals (which we're all reporting progress
on) - so we've organised an afternoon workshop to support this ongoing work.
As discussed, we're lucky enough to have Tessa Gray from Cored ED as our
presenter. Tessa has worked on the development of the Core ED
Cybercitizenship PD Modules and will examine current and essential issues
around 21st Century Citizenship with us, and the need for developing
effective, current policy and practice in our schools (what now?, why? and
how?).
Please note - this has become more than simply addressing cybersafety
issues. The content is aimed at Principals and Management teams (although
lead teachers are also very welcome). This should be an excellent PD session.
Tessa will run it in "Keynote" style with opportunities for questions and
discussion - feel free to bring laptops to view resources and save links.
I'll forward more information about specific content as soon as I receive
it.
{Please let me know ASAP if you want to attend)
